The prediction was not a guess
A few weeks earlier the stats said the 68s were being held back by a specific leak: too many approach shots finishing on the wrong tier or the wrong side of the flag.
Fix the miss pattern, keep everything else the same, and four shots were sitting there waiting.
What changed on the card
The birdie count went up without the bogey count moving. That is the signature of better approach positioning rather than a hot putter.
More looks from inside fifteen feet, fewer awkward two putts from above the hole, and the score falls almost on its own.
Repeatable, not lucky
The reason this matters is that it is a repeatable route to a low round. Hot putting cannot be scheduled. Better approach targets can.
Every player has a version of this available. The stats simply tell you which one it is.
